Life as a True Summer

As a person susceptible to trends, I got fully sucked into the world of the color palette. I think the concept originated with Color Me Beautiful in 1987, but these principles classify you as a season based on your natural coloring and undertones.

I was deemed a True Summer by Curate Your Style. As of writing, they offer a Color Season Analysis and Basic Color Guide for £33. Firstly, I was quite happy with that service and guide. I spent many hours trying to determine my season myself, but never felt confident in my assessment. I think part of my struggle was denial. I didn't want to be a Summer. It is muted colors, pastels, silvers, grays, cool tones. I'd been slowing working towards a capsule wardrobe of warm neutrals and blacks - neither of which are part of the Summer palette. So what did this realization mean for me?

Well, I certainly wasn't going to throw out my whole wardrobe and every piece of gold jewelry. I'm not a huge fan of pastels, but being told they would be flattering had me give them a second look. Now, as I need a new piece of clothing, I see if a more Summer-friendly color is an option and give it a try. Much like I struggled to determine my own color season, I also struggle to notice any difference.
